Lennox HVAC in Orlando, FL | Halden Heating and Air Orlando

We provide independent Lennox HVAC repair and maintenance across Orlando, and the thing that sets our Lennox work apart here is simple: we know exactly what this climate does to these systems. Orlando’s humidity, daily summer lightning, and older housing stock create failure patterns that a generic AC tech misses but a Lennox specialist sees coming. If your Lennox system is acting up, call (850) 695-3178 and we’ll diagnose it right the first time.

Andre Fuller, our owner, grew up in Los Angeles and learned the trade at Los Angeles Trade-Technical College before spending over two decades turning wrenches on everything from window units to commercial rooftop systems. He built Halden Heating and Air around one rule: tell the customer the price and the problem before anyone touches a single screw. That’s how we run every Lennox call in Orlando.

Why Orlando Residents Choose Us for Lennox Service

Lennox makes some of the most sophisticated residential HVAC equipment you can put on a Florida home, but that sophistication cuts both ways. Variable-speed compressors, communicating thermostats, and inverter boards are fantastic when they work, and they demand a tech who actually understands the proprietary logic behind them when they don’t. Our Orlando techs work on Lennox systems every week, which means we have seen the weird failures, the intermittent communication errors, and the humidity-control quirks that stump generalists.

We are an independent Lennox service provider. That means we are not tied to a manufacturer’s corporate service department, and we are not limited by an authorized dealer’s constraints. We keep our own parts inventory, cross-reference Lennox technical bulletins ourselves, and we will repair an aging Lennox unit that a factory-authorized dealer might refuse because the model is discontinued. We serve all of Orlando and the surrounding areas, from the full Orlando service area out to the suburbs. Book online, get a live arrival time, and track your tech to the door. Every repair comes with a written guarantee. If it fails within the coverage window, we come back at no charge.

Common Lennox HVAC Problems We Solve in Orlando

Here is what we actually see on Lennox equipment in Central Florida, week after week:

  • Lightning-strike compressor failures on XC21 units. Orlando’s afternoon thunderstorm season runs June through September, and those storms generate a lot of cloud-to-ground lightning. On Lennox XC21 condensing units mounted in exposed concrete-block alcoves, we see terminal burnoff and compressor contactor damage more than almost any other failure. A surge-protected disconnect and a quick post-storm inspection can save you a $2,000 compressor swap.
  • Condensate drain clogs from mold and algae in attic air handlers. High dew points mean your evaporator coil is producing gallons of condensate every day. In an attic-mounted Lennox air handler, that water has to travel through a drain line that is dark and warm, which is basically an algae farm. When the line clogs, the pan overflows, and on an SL18XC1 system you will see a secondary drain pan fill and sometimes trip a float switch. We clear the line, treat it, and check the float switch every time.
  • iComfort thermostat communication errors with variable-speed indoor units. Lennox’s iComfort communicating thermostats are extremely sensitive to voltage drop and signal degradation. In a hot, humid Orlando attic, the low-voltage wiring between the thermostat and the air handler gradually breaks down, which produces intermittent “communication lost” errors. We test the wiring path, not just the thermostat, because replacing the thermostat without fixing the wiring just moves the problem.
  • Failed compressor run capacitors on single-stage Lennox condensing units. Run capacitors fail under continuous heat exposure, and in Orlando your outdoor unit is baking in the sun for a good chunk of the year. A swollen or leaking run capacitor will cause hard starting, short cycling, and eventually a compressor that will not start at all. It is one of the cheapest fixes we do, and one of the most common.
  • Rooftop package unit duct work falling apart in Conway and Azalea Park homes. Many 1950s-60s ranchers in Conway and Azalea Park still run original Lennox rooftop package units with ductwork that predates modern airflow standards. The ducts are often crushed, disconnected, or full of debris from decades of attic heat. The unit itself may be fine, but the system cannot deliver air. We diagnose the whole path, not just the box on the roof.

Lennox Service in Orlando: What Local Conditions Mean for Your Equipment

Here is something you will not hear from a generic HVAC company: in Orlando’s older neighborhoods like Azalea Park, many homes still have the original Lennox rooftop package unit sitting on a structure with asbestos duct wrap and no secondary drain pan. That mattered less in 1964. It matters now, because current Florida code requires hurricane straps on rooftop equipment and an elevated secondary drain pan with a float switch. So a homeowner who calls us for what they think is a simple compressor swap often discovers the repair triggers a code-compliance retrofit. The compressor might cost $1,800, but the full job, including the pan, the straps, and the duct repairs, runs higher. We walk every customer through that up front, before any work starts, so the final price is never a surprise at the end.

In Conway, our tech arrived at a 1964 rancher with a Lennox 13ACX condensing unit that had been short-cycling and tripping the breaker during a late-afternoon storm. We found a lightning-damaged compressor contactor and a swollen run capacitor. After replacing the OEM contactor and upgrading to a surge-protected disconnect, we also installed a secondary drain pan float switch on the indoor coil to satisfy current code. The customer’s unit cooled properly by evening, and we scheduled a follow-up duct pressure test because the original flex runs were collapsing in the attic heat.

Lennox Models & Products We Service in Orlando

We work on the full Lennox residential lineup, including the XC21 two-stage scroll compressor in the Signature Series, the SL18XC1 single-stage high-efficiency condenser, the G61MPV variable-speed gas furnace, and the CBX32MV variable-speed air handler. We also handle heat pumps, mini-splits, and package units. For critical components like thermostats, variable-speed motors, and inverter boards, we use genuine Lennox OEM parts to preserve system communication and any remaining warranty on newer units. For aging models where OEM parts are discontinued or priced beyond reasonable, we source verified aftermarket replacements only if they meet Lennox electrical and refrigerant specifications. And when a repair would cost more than half the price of a new high-efficiency unit, we will tell you that honestly and give you a written replacement quote instead.

Our Lennox sales & service expertise covers everything from basic repairs to full system replacement, mini-split installation, and dehumidifier installation for homes struggling with Orlando’s humidity.
